We are very pleased to have Dr. Scheinert teach at our Institute again this year. Dr. Scheinert earned her doctorate at the Technical University in Dresden. She holds several diploma and certificates such as TESOL-Diploma Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages from the College of Preceptors, Epping, Essex, UK, the LCCI-Certificate Course – Further Certificate for Teachers of Business English, Pilgrims / University of Canterbury, Kent, UK. Dr. Scheinert has been publicly appointed and inaugurated as translator for the English language by the President of the Higher Regional Court in Dresden. She is member of IATEFL – International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language, BESIG – Business Special Interest Group under th eumbrella of IATEFL, BDÜ – Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer, as well as IATET – International Association of Technical English Trainers e.V.. Dr. Scheinert´s fields of expertise also include Chemistry, Environment Protection, Economy, Finance and Marketing. Since 1992, Dr. Scheinert works as a freelance translator, interpreter and lecturer.

Module M1-3 “Soft Skills”:

In this course students train their intercultural, negotiation and presentation skills in order to be able to successfully do business in an international context. Group work, panel discussions, role plays as well as seminar dialog are among the formats that are used to explore different topics. Students also practice their newly acquired knowledge while working on case studies and put their soft skills in business to the test when preparing and giving a business presentation to their class mates.

The course aims at raising cultural awareness, enhancing and deepening competencies in intercultural business communication, boosting presentation skills and practicing essential soft skills necessary for establishing successful relationships in business.
