Enrolment at Saarland University

For information on application and admission procedures at Saarland University, please go to https://www.uni-saarland.de/en/study/prospective/application.html

1. If your application to study at EIABM at Saarland University has been accepted, you will receive a letter of acceptance (Zulassungsbescheid). Before you can enrol (i.e. formally register for the first time with the university), you have to transfer the amount shown on the letter of acceptance to the university’s bank account. You can either fill in a transfer form at your bank or make a cash payment at Bank1Saar. You have to specify the following information:

  • Recipient (Empfänger): Universität des Saarlandes
  • Bank (Kreditinstitut): Bank 1 Saar
  • IBAN: DE19 5919 0000 0000 33 0000
  • BIC: SABA DE 5 S
  • Reason for transfer (Verwendungszweck): Family name, first name, date of birth, W102720001/102 7200

Do not forget to get a proof of payment from the bank. You can enrol once the money is credited to the university’s bank account (usually five days after payment).

2. For the enrolment, follow the details in your acceptance letter.

3. Once you have enrolled, you will receive your “Studierendenkennung”. To get a checklist for all further information, please go to www.uni-saarland.de/studienbeginn

4. The certificate of enrolment (Immatrikulationsbescheinigung) is only available online and can be printed via LSF/POS (www.lsf.uni-saarland.de). It is important if you want to open a bank account or to apply to extend your visa, and it may be required when applying for a job.

5. By enrolling with the university, you automatically receive liability, theft and statutory accident insurance cover while on campus. Personal accident cover is provided by the Studentenwerk.

6. The UdS Card serves as a student ID card and a semester travel ticket that permits free bus and rail travel in Saarland and on a number of routes in neighbouring regions (e.g. local train services to Zweibrücken, Saarbahn services to Sarreguemines and local bus services as far as Zweibrücken and Waldmohr). The UdS Card also functions as an electronic wallet and can be used to pay for food and meals in the Mensa student refectory and in cafés run by the Studentenwerk. In many cases, presenting your UdS Card as student ID will entitle you to reduced ticket prices in theatres, cinemas, museums and at concerts and other cultural events.
