Congratulations to our graduate Dr.-Ing. María Agustina Guitar on being awarded the Villa Lessing Europe Prize!
During the award ceremony for the Villa Lessing Europe Prize on 18 May 2023, Dr.-Ing. María Agustina Guitar was honoured for her outstanding Master’s thesis on “Retail’s Sustainable Future? The Rise of Re-commerce and its Implications for the Retail Industry” with the Europa-Preis der Villa Lessing – Liberale Stiftung Saar.
The prize is awarded annually to up to four students of the Law and Economics sections of the Europa-Institut at Saarland University whose final thesis deals with developments in European law and economics, and in particular with the strengthening of freedom and competition in Europe, European integration on a liberal basis and the strengthening of European civil society.
This year’s keynote speech was given by Prof. Dr. Dr. Juliane Kokott, Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg, who spoke on the topic of “Media Freedom through Media Supervision”.
The entire team of the Europa-Institut, Economics Section congratulates Dr.-Ing. María Agustina Guitar on her award. At the same time, we would like to thank Villa Lessing for announcing the award and for the excellent organisation of the award ceremony, which once again provided an excellent opportunity for exchange between academia, politics and practice.
