Master of Business Administration (MBA) European Management
European Management
The postgraduate MBA study Programme “European Management” at Saarland University has a long history. When it was introduced in 1990, it was the first study programme at a German university leading to a MBA degree.
The European integration implicates various changes. For managers as for employees, these changes mean both opportunity and challenge: the opportunity is to discover the diversity of the member states and to be fascinated by their country-specific attributes; the challenge is to use these differences successfully in the background of entrepreneurial objectives. Our MBA programme “European Management” is therefore convinced that a modern formation of managers should not only impart professional knowledge but also the cultural diversity as a framework requirement. People should always be the focus of every business relationship.
Our MBA programme “European Management” is attractive to a wide target audience including practitioners, international graduates, and academics.
It can be completed in full-time or part-time and offers 15 courses taught in English, usually set from Wednesday to Saturday, and related to the following main modules: Management Basics, European Basics, Financial Management, Marketing and Management, Operations Management and Behavioural Management.
Up to three of the 15 classes are offered as “International Weeks” at other European universities of our choice.
Our MBA courses are held by distinguished professors from renowned universities from Germany and other European countries. Field trips and other events help to deepen and apply theoretical knowledge and to socially interact with other students, practitioners, and academics.

Why our MBA programme?
The participants in our MBA programme:
- learn how to conduct a business which acts within Europe and which deals with businesses from other European countries or plans to,
- have a sense of the cultural diversity of Europe and the ability to consider this in a promising way in their decisions as a manager,
- have the knowledge of other challenges which arise from the growing linkage between Europe and its economical regions (mainly Asia), and achieve within their studies an interdisciplinary understanding of the judicial, political and economical bases of the European integration.
