European Panel: Who will create the Europe of tomorrow?
Civic and political answers as well as point of views from the wider region.
On Wednesday, January 20th 2021, 6.00pm – 7.30pm (German time), an online event will take place on Zoom on the occasion of the “German-French Week”. The event will also be livestreamed on Facebook. Organisers are the European Academy Otzenhausen in cooperation with the University of Saarland´s Frankreichzentrum, ASKO Europa-Stiftung and the Information Centre EUROPE DIRECT of Saarbrücken.
Joint European action was neglected in the initial crisis decisions on the Corona pandemic. The serious social, political and economic consequences of individual nation-state decisions and border closures are particularly prevalent in border regions. In light of the crisis, civic actors have nevertheless continued their work on the basis of European solidarity.
Based on concrete examples of European-influenced cross-border work in the wider region, the discussion will address the question “Who will actually create the Europe of tomorrow?”.
Discussing:
Jean-Marie Adam (Fondation de France), Isabelle Maras (Senior Fellow at the Centre International de Formation Européenne-CIFE ), Dr. Stefan Seidendorf (Deutsch-Französisches Institut Ludwigsburg), Alexander Koch (new principal).
Moderation:
Carolin Dylla (Saarländischer Rundfunk).
