The EIABM congratulates Ivo Sonntag, MBA graduate and co-founder of the vertical-farming start-up “BeLeaf”, on receiving an EXIST funding.
Ivo Sonntag successfully completed his Master degree in “European Management” at the European Institute for Advanced Behavioural Management (EIABM) at the end of 2020. In his Master thesis, he already dealt with the topic of regionality in food and the acceptance of new cultivation methods.
“BeLeaf” aims to grow various fresh herbs and salads as well as microgreens under artificial light and without soil in conditions that are always optimal for the respective plant. This method is characterised by sustainable and resource-saving production and is free of any toxins. In addition, the products have a shelf life that is up to 200% longer.
Ivo Sonntag says that he is happy about the opportunity to finally apply the skills he learned during his studies in his own start-up. Now he already had the opportunity to gather a lot of relevant knowledge in the field during his master thesis, which now helps him in his everyday life.
