Retailing and Logistics
The retail trade is currently facing a difficult situation: rising inflation, poor availability of goods in some cases due to supply bottlenecks and the associated restraint on the part of consumers. However, consumers’ awareness of sustainability has also increased and is presenting retailers with challenges, particularly in terms of sustainable positioning. One aspect that needs to be mentioned here is the implementation of the reverse supply chain, which describes the flow of goods from consumers back to the retailer. This is of enormous importance at the present time in order to enforce the “right to repair” as well as re-commerce activities. The Retailing and Logistics course by Prof. Dr Bastian Popp provides insights into the aspects outlined and also offers exciting perspectives on retail branding and logistics strategies in the consumer goods sector. Entailing the international focus of our programme, course participants discuss the contents they have learned using global players and thus deepen their newly acquired knowledge.
